Actually, this is a beautiful custom designed house that’s been specifically decorated with mementos and highly unique personalized decor from all around the world.

When Dina’s friend Mary first took her on a tour of this absolutely one-of-a-kind showcase, Dina immediately knew that you’d find it fun to take your own tour on an episode of Decorating Date Night.

Honestly, this episode could have been multiple hours in length, so we simply try to capture some of the highlights. Hopefully you’ll be inspired to try new ideas in your home.

Season 4, Episode 17: “Marketplace Find”

Decorating Date Night with Troy and Dina tackles a do-it-yourself project.

Dina is always scouring every nook and cranny to find great shopping deals to help improve interior spaces on a tiny budget. In this case she found a gem on Facebook Marketplace.

This custom cabinetry would cost many thousands of dollars to purchase new. However, with a commitment of time, and the usage of ordinary household tools, the built-in look can be accomplished for a small fraction of the price.

This video for episode seventeen introduces the early transformation process from “refuse to reuse”, or in other words from “trash to treasure. The video for part two of this episode showcases the completed project for this showpiece.

Season 4, Episode 15: “Dressing Up the Dressing Room”

Decorating Date Night with Troy and Dina takes you into the dressing room. Some houses have closets, others have walk-in closets, and a select few have dressing rooms!

Notice the storage cabinetry, the ample room for hangers, the sitting area, the stylish desk, the window bringing in natural light, and even the customized Italian chandelier.

What more could a girl want? (And what more could any guy want for his girl)?

Season 4, Episode 14: “All That Glitters is Not Gold”

Decorating Date Night with Troy and Dina takes painting to new heights as Dina uses a pearlized technique to add metallic paint to a ten foot tray ceiling. This added sparkle proves to be the perfect touch in the evolution of a master bedroom suite.

Finding this specialized paint is rather difficult because (believe it or not!) the product is being discontinued by many manufacturers and retailers. It’s worth the hunt if you can track it down, since it provides a high-end touch that’s exponentially more affordable than wall paper, tiles, or pretty much every other option one might consider.

Season 4, Episode 13: “The Goodbye Tour”

Decorating Date Night with Troy and Dina has dedicated a very large percentage of episodes to one particular property over the years. That project is now fully complete, and so there’s one last look at the space within the home (providing some history of the design choices made during the past remodeling endeavors).

Note: One of the two microphones failed during the recording, so parts of the audio are difficult to hear. However, most of the video does have very understandable audio, so we appreciate you bearing with us as you watch this very noteworthy (to us, anyway) edition of the program.

Season 4, Episode 9: “Showing You The Door(s)”

Decorating Date Night with Troy and Dina is showing you the door. (Plural doors, actually – as in three doors). There is a single-swing exterior iron door, an interior bypass door system, and a double-swing exterior iron door. These are very cool, and will set the tone for the entire house and the future decorating decisions moving forward.

The episode also provides an update on the status of redecorating the dining room and butler’s pantry.

Note: The audio for this episode is far better than the previous episode, but we’re still getting used to the new microphones. The next video, God willing, will have audio that’s even stronger.

Season 4, Episode 8: “Furnishings Enter the Picture”

Season Four, already challenging, now experienced very annoying technical troubles with the audio. It seems that our external microphone is meeting its demise. We apologize for the less than stellar quality, but have decided to post the episode for archive purposes as we track the progress of the whole house transformation. (We will use a new microphone for the next episode).
